We’ve seen it time and time again. A classic standoff. Two clashing personalities. The law-enforcing, honourable sheriff, and the menacing, hotshot outlaw he’s been chasing all his career. Then one of them utters that famous line. “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us.”
It appears there’s an ultimatum. One of them must leave, or risk being shot and killed. A problem more relevant now than ever with the growing world population and ever decreasing floor space per capita. Luckily, a group of people have stepped forward with a solution.
The council have commissioned an urban planning team to fix the issue, which has been problematic for cowboys and Londoners alike.
The team’s spokesperson, Brendan Rimmedge explained their methodology. “We watched countless Westerns and analysed the town maps in each case. We managed to work out a system to ensure neither of the main characters had to emigrate, just by rerouting some minor roads.”
Wanted criminal Johnny the Bullet, was delighted by the prospect.
“Brendan and his team have done some fantastic work. I was really pleasantly surprised with the results.”
“I thought I was going to have to leave town, but now I’m free to kill and steal, just like in the old days. The additional room means I’ve even been able to get my old gang to move back in with me.”
The local council have deemed the project a success and have already started work on alternatives to doing things ‘the easy way’ and ‘the hard way’ and advising people they aren’t required to kill strangers after revealing a secret to them.
